So today was my first performance with the Ballroom Dance Company performance team. We were asked to perform at Eastern’s dance competitions this week. I was so nervous and scared!! I haven’t performed anything since High School and that was hip hop routines for our dance team.
We performed a Cha Cha routine to Debelah Morgan’s “Dance With Me”
I messed up a few times but overall I’m really happy with how it went. CJ and I learned it in only a few rehearsals, that just means that next time it will be flawless (hopefully)!!!! If you’re interested I’m the one all the way to the left.

This past Saturday I was able to go to this cake show in Westminster, MD to support my best friend Jillian in her first cake competition. Everything was SO amazing, and I was able to meet some famous chefs/cake decorators from the Food Network so that was super awesome. Here’s some pictures of the show:
Here’s my best friend’s fabulous cake from the Wedding Cake Competition part, it was based off of her Vietnamese Wedding Gown (Ao Dai

Rest in Peace Heath Ledger, a terrific actor.
I won’t write more because I feel as though the media is doing a
good enough job of publicly torturing his family with paparazzi and video
footage of the body and etc.

I think it’s interesting to see how we can be so insulting. I took time this weekend to think about how things we say and do are actually quite insulting. Even if we don’t mean them or are trying to be funny, it’s probably a good idea to start filtering.
The other day I was having a conversation with some people, and I said something along the lines of “He’s gay so he TOTALLY loved it” and instantly when I said that I realized that there was a gay person there as well. Although she wasn’t insulted (and I didn’t mean it in a negative way at all) and didn’t really notice that I said that, I felt like shit. Then I realized, had I just tried to filter myself in all my conversations–I would not be letting stupid stuff like that fly out of my mouth. I hate when people use the word “gay” in conversations as an insult, but using it even in a positive way perpetuates a stereotype which I hate. I’ve yelled at people for doing the same thing and I felt like a serious hypocrit when I did that.
Think of what you say and do before you say and do it, you can’t take everything back in life.
I, myself will try to practice this from now on.

Last night I got the chance to watch Juno at the movie theatre.
SO worth it.
It connected with you on different levels, while remaning
funny and serious all at the same time.
I won’t go into details as to not ruin it but I laughed AND cried, and it definitely starts some interesting conversations .
That is my recommended movie of this month!

I just found out that my 8th grade English teacher has a brain tumor. An english teacher, who is now starting to forget nouns and verbs and such.. this is a woman who has finally gotten herself to write a story, a book for children. Now, now that she’s ready to fulfill this dream.. she has a brain tumor?
I think the more of life that happens, the less I understand it. I wish there was something I could do for her, she was an amazing teacher.
