Rest in Peace Heath Ledger, a terrific actor.
I won’t write more because I feel as though the media is doing a
good enough job of publicly torturing his family with paparazzi and video
footage of the body and etc.

I think it’s interesting to see how we can be so insulting. I took time this weekend to think about how things we say and do are actually quite insulting. Even if we don’t mean them or are trying to be funny, it’s probably a good idea to start filtering.
The other day I was having a conversation with some people, and I said something along the lines of “He’s gay so he TOTALLY loved it” and instantly when I said that I realized that there was a gay person there as well. Although she wasn’t insulted (and I didn’t mean it in a negative way at all) and didn’t really notice that I said that, I felt like shit. Then I realized, had I just tried to filter myself in all my conversations–I would not be letting stupid stuff like that fly out of my mouth. I hate when people use the word “gay” in conversations as an insult, but using it even in a positive way perpetuates a stereotype which I hate. I’ve yelled at people for doing the same thing and I felt like a serious hypocrit when I did that.
Think of what you say and do before you say and do it, you can’t take everything back in life.
I, myself will try to practice this from now on.
